I was actually looking for detailed and coincise information with regards to the chemistry of the process, equipment and waste handling in conventional platinum recovery by hydrometallurgy.

Sorry I was occupied with other things in the past few days. A short introduction to the hydrometallurgy of platinum metals can be found in my Textbook of Hydrometallurgy, second edition pages 228-233. A good review on platinum metals refining was published last year by R.T.Jones, "An Overview of Southern African PGM Smelting" pages 147-178 with 41 references in Nickel & Cobalt 2005, edited by J. Donald and R. Schonewille, published by Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum in Montreal, 2005. I hope this will keep you going for a while.
