Does anyone have any experience will the magnetic mill liners marketed by Eriez? They seem to be invented in Chile and have 400 applications running there. This is the first new technology in extractive metallurgy that I have heard about coming from China. It sounds very interesting, they presented a paper at the SME Feb 2007, but I have not heard any other mention of it. This is just for ball mills, not SAG mills, but the money saved and improved safety compared to relining mills would probably be very significant.

They look impressive in so much as it could make mill relines redundant as a self-replenishing layer of grinding media/chips is constantly replenished on the magnetic surface.
However, what abut the size/weight of the liners for installation, and what about if you do want to remove them? If they are covered with grinding media chips it would probably pose a manual handling problem. Also, what is the maximum size ball mill that the liners can be used for?
