The 7th International Flotation Conference (Flotation '15) is organised by MEI in consultation with Prof. Dee Bradshaw and Prof. Jim Finch.
Flotation '15 features 2 discrete symposia:
November 16-17: Flotation Fundamentals: Physics and Chemistry
Although now over a hundred years old, the fundamental aspects of flotation are still being intensively researched, and new machines developed. This two day symposium will focus on:
- Fundamental reagent and flotation chemistry
- Bubbles, froths, bubble-particle interactions
- Flotation cell hydrodynamics, kinetics and scale-up
The keynote lecture "A really close look at flotation" will be given by Prof. Jan Cilliers, of Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London.
November 18-19: Flotation Applications and Plant Practice
This two day symposium focuses on the application of flotation, and will include sessions on:
- Plant Operations, particularly related to new technology, and process mineralogy problems
- Flotation Circuits, and their modelling, simulation, control and optimisation
- Flotation machine developments
- Metallic, non-metallic and coal flotation
- Environmental considerations
The keynote lecture "Where is the standard flotation test?" will be given by Peter Amelunxen, of Aminpro Chile.
Call for Papers
Papers are invited for presentation at Flotation '15. All papers must be written and presented in English, the official language of the conference.
Abstract Submission
Short abstracts, of no more than 150 words, should be sent to Dr. Barry Wills by email by the end of May 2015.
Draft Papers
If accepted, draft papers will be required. These will form the unrefereed Proceedings, which will be available to delegates on a CD-ROM at the conference. Copyright on these papers belongs to the individual authors, and not to MEI.
Final Papers
Final papers should be submitted no later than one month after the end of the conference in order to be considered for the special issue of Minerals Engineering. These will be refereed, and, if accepted, published in a special Flotation issue of the journal. Corresponding authors will receive one complimentary copy of this special issue. All other delegates may purchase the special issue from Elsevier Science Ltd at a discounted rate.
